Introduction
This psychology course is designed to be a broad introduction to the subject. Students will go over a several topics in the semester including the history of psychology and key figures, research, the biological influence on psychology, cognition, development, learning, social psychology, abnormal and treatment, as well as other fundamental topics. Units, assignments, and test dates will be posted on canvas and on my website.

Bring to Class Every Day
Pen or pencil, paper, Chromebooks, assigned material.

Other Items of Note
Videos and video clips are occasionally shown in class to aid the visualization of a concept. These may include film clips, TV news or entertainment broadcasts, biographies, documentaries, or other sources of information. Nothing rated PG-13 or beyond will be shown.

Makeup Work
If a student has an excused absence, they are eligible for the points that are awarded for the class-time activities; however, it is the responsibility of the student to check Canvas for what is going on that day and to stay current with the classwork. No points will be available for unexcused absences.

Late Work
Late work will be accepted at a 10% loss of points per class day subtracted from the total points earned. After ten days, or the end of the quarter (whichever comes first), the assignment will not be accepted for points.

Test Re-Test
If a student, or parent, is unhappy with the outcome of a test. The student may retake the test up to two times in order to achieve a more satisfactory score. It is expected that the student takes time between tests to study and explore new strategies for understanding the material.
Test retakes will need to be scheduled.
